This Plantagenet Manorhouse  was the first national winner of the AA/NPI Historic House Awards (for its architectural integrity and warm welcome for visitors).

It is the sole survivor of a deserted medieval village, a family home for over 700 years and has many treasures to see both inside and out. There is a 13th century porch (Pevsner called it `astounding'), a 15th century Chapel, panelled rooms with early oak furniture and staircase, Nailsea glass, Persian rugs and saddlebacks.

The gardens have old yew trees, many rare plants and a profusion of old fashioned roses in June and July.
